The Council of the Order of Australia has recognised the personal and professional contributions Scott has made to the not-for-profit sector, disadvantaged young people, rural communities and aged care.

Those who have spent time with Scott are likely to have heard him say, “If you see a need and you have the capability or capacity to address it, then you’re honour bound to do so” and it is a philosophy he has held throughout his life.

An outdoors person and adventurer at heart, much of his early career was dedicated to connecting disadvantaged youth with nature, and even as he moved his work into an office, he has maintained both his involvement with the outdoors and his commitment to not walk past a need.

As Chief Executive of RFDS Victoria, he has transformed a non-operational arm of the Flying Doctor with six staff members into a multi-faceted not-for-profit major healthcare provider.

To compliment his dedicated position at the helm of RFDS Victoria, Scott also has held many advisory and board positions across the Melbourne community. He currently holds Chair roles at Doutta Galla Aged Services, the Dafydd Lewis Trust, Western Melbourne Tourism, the Enterprize Ship Trust, and Cottage by the Sea. He is also Director of the Male Bag Foundation and Awards Victoria Ltd. More recently Scott has been appointed as Chair of AMREF Flying Doctor from July 2024, which is the leading provider of fixed-wing air ambulance services in Africa.

Congratulations are extended to Scott by the entire RFDS community for this significant award and recognition.
