First partnering with the RFDS in 2004, Beach Energy’s 21 years of unwavering support makes it the RFDS’s longest serving major partner.

Founded in Adelaide, Beach is a proudly South Australian company passionate about local community investment across education, environment, health, safety and wellbeing.

“Beach’s partnership with the RFDS is built on a shared love and care for the people who live, work or spend time in the regional and remote areas of this great land,” Beach Managing Director and CEO Brett Woods said.

“Our people know firsthand how important this critical service is – having recently had one of our own staff fall unwell and require the Flying Doctor.

In recognition of the major sponsorship renewal, the medically-equipped RFDS aircraft VH-JDN, will continue to airlift two patients a day throughout South Australia and the Northern Territory bearing the Beach brand on its fuselage.

Over the past year alone, VH-JDN has flown more than 300,000 kilometres and airlifted more than 655 patients from 70 different rural and remote communities to specialist medical treatment.

RFDS SA/NT Executive General Manager Strategy, Brand & Reputation Charlie Paterson said the longstanding relationship with Beach Energy has and will continue to deliver long-lasting benefits to the health and wellbeing of regional, rural and remote communities.

“At the RFDS, we’re about delivering the finest care to the furthest corner, but we cannot fund the replacement of aircraft and medical equipment to deliver this care without the tangible support of the community,” he said.

“Beach – along with its staff – has been an active member of the RFDS community for more than two decades – their financial support has helped us be there for many people when they need it most.

“We are proud to share such a strong relationship with an organisation and workforce committed to building sustainable, strong and resilient communities.”

VH-JDN is one of 21 aircraft operated by RFDS SA/NT located across its aeromedical bases in Adelaide, Port Augusta, Alice Springs and Darwin.
